The Butter Festival, also known as Anduri Utsav, will be held on August 16, 2024, in Dayara Bugyal. This traditional festival celebrates the richness of the harvest season, where locals and visitors engage in playful activities, dance, and cultural performances, all while smearing each other with butter and buttermilk.
Day 1: Rishikesh to Raithal Morning: Depart from Rishikesh early in the morning, . Travel through scenic routes via Uttarkashi, taking breaks for breakfast and short sightseeing. Evening Explore Raithal village, interact with locals, and enjoy the surrounding views. Dinner and overnight stay in Raithal
Morning: Early breakfast and start the trek to Dayara Bugyal (approx. 8 km, 3-4 hours). Reach Dayara Bugyal and participate in the Butter Festival (Anduri Utsav). Enjoy cultural performances, local food, and festivities. Evening: Stay Dinner under the stars and overnight stay.
Day 3: Dayara Bugyal to Harsil Breakfast at the campsite. Trek back to Raithal. Depart for Harsil (approx. 2.5-3 hours drive). Arrive in Harsil by early afternoon. Explore Harsil village, known for its apple orchards and beautiful landscapes. Visit the nearby Wilson Cottage and enjoy a walk along the Bhagirathi River. Dinner and overnight stay in Harsil.
Day 4: Harsil to Rishikesh Early breakfast and departure from Harsil. Arrive in Rishikesh by late afternoon/early evening. Trip concludes in Rishikesh.
